When I had Gestational Diabetes during my pregnancy in 2017, I learned to test my own blood sugar. I tested it each morning before breakfast (fasting) and also tested it 1 OR 2 hours after the start of a meal. Four times a day, I got a small drop of blood from the side of my fingertip to test my blood sugar. This needed to be done from July 3, 2017 to October 26,2017 which was the day my son was born.
This special diary is my manifesto of motherhood. Sometimes motherhood is an endless loop; Breakfast, diapers, snacks, lunchtime, blocks, books, errands, dinnertime, bedtime. Collapse and repeat. Yesterday, today, tomorrow and the next day, it continues. But repetition and consistency is a mother’s magical power.
